Casio PX120 Help

so, i purchased mine yesterday. when i turn it on, at time the red lights would turn on and sometimes it would not. they would eventually turn on after about 10-15 minutes. when i would try to change the tones, at times it would, and at times it wont change. just wondering if this is normal? deffective? i might have to return it and get another one. anyone with the px120 can help me?
