I play a bit of guitar at a local nursing home, play and sing at Church, that sort of thing.

I really would like to learn to chord with a keyboard. I understand keys and chords, but I don't understand what I am suppose to do with my left hand if my right hand is playing the chord? Other than hit the base note...

I have an old Yamaha PRS 275 that can sound much better than I can play.

If anyone has any good online chord lessons, or even one I could buy?

I am afraid a teacher is out of the question at present time.

Thanks for any help!

For spelling out a simple chord progression bass note in the left hand is fine (root note of the chord).

if your playing in church, probably 75 percent of the time your just gonna use a pad, which you dont even need a bass note for

A pad is a type of sound hehe.

Like you have pianos, basses, guitars, trumpets...

A pad is similar to strings except it's usually much more "creamy", mellow and often has a bit motion to it.

You use it to "fill" the background of the overall sound and just make the whole thing bigger
