Great to see you are still among the living Pete! A while back I looked
around the net to see if I could find anything recent from you, but came up
empty handed. Are you still running your demo studio? Drop by more often,
we still have the coffeehouse, and Ted should be by any minute to give you
    some much deserved shit. ;)

    Good to see you, Pete.

I left a message in the forum for you asking if you were still in the
    Biloxi/Gulfport area.

I was a little miffed that the MODs pushed your post down to the
basement with the rest of the drivel posted there. They should show a
little respect for one of those who got them where they are now.

Incredible! Cake's web forum is almost as anal as Toontrack's now with
all the moving, deleting, and even freeking editing of posts going on
    there.

Prolly some punk ass new hire at Cake who has no idea of the history of
the company, but has the special powers to moderate the forum.

Wow, it's so great to hear from you again. Welcome back!!!!!

I'm still typing to you from a computer in the same server case you
recommended, in which I built my first T-Bird DAW from your recipe.

    I'm based in Nashville now.

Toontraks strict moderation has a purpose. It's not set up as a peer to
peer support group. Users do help users there but it is set up as a
public area (only for pre-sales purposes) and a private area. The
support area is private and there are staff there who are paid to help
there (although they are also doing a half dozen other things as well.)
So if they see a support issue, they push it to the private area
because they don't want to support non-registered users.

Cakewalks moderation is always "Willy Nilly". It depends on who is
posting as to where it gets pushed to a different forum. Seems like
every day there is going to be my last.

Heck. when Pete posts, the forum should automatically play "Hail to the
    Chief."

Toontrack's web forum is more structured in that they have specific
public/promo areas and registered user help areas, but I still think they
are fairly anal about where posts belong in their heirachy. I asked a
question about where a doc file could be found, and it was asked in the
proper area, but because the post said other things, they moved it to an
area less likely to be answered. In fact, the person who moved it could
have answered it in less time than it took them to move it. Just my $.02

They do seem to let some things ride and others not, and it does appear to
have some effect as to who the poster was whether it gets moved or not. An
off topic post promoting a new CD or song can live in the main group if it
was posted by the right person.

    > Heck. when Pete posts, the forum should automatically play "Hail to the
    > Chief."

    LOL!

It's pretty obvious to me who the "pilot fish" are. They swim along side
of the Cakeshark in hopes of gulping down bits of the leftovers when
they're not busy preening the Cakeshark. ;)
