Hey all. I'm looking to buy a keyboard but I have absolutely no idea where to start. My price range would preferably be 500 or under. I'm looking for a keyboard that I can use to practice classical piano on, but that also has some other sounds that I can experiment with (I'm looking to dabble in making some electronic music as well). Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Look for something used. You're going to be disappointed with the piano sound of anything under $1,000 new.

As for what keyboard to get, you'll obviously want weighted keys, which usually means the 88-key version of a keyboard. Go to your local music store and try out a few, and then check around eBay and craigslist to find a used version of the one you like best.
