I did notice my broadband speed increased back to the speed I originally
paid for. My speed dropped in the fall. I went to their forums and many
accused them of capping bandwidth. I know they did.

Some technicians came out in Oct. and said I was to far away for their
elite service. Odd that when I first upgraded I was getting 4-5 meg and
then in the Fall under 3. Now I'm up to 4.5.

The real damage was people got fed up and switched to Concast. It's rare
for people to revert back to DSL once they got a good cable speed unless
there is a big price difference.

Yeah, no kidding. I went through all kinds of headaches with AT&T. At first
they said it was inside, so I ripped out EVERYTHING and replaced it with
Cat5e. After the 4th or 5th time of them coming out and not finding
anything wrong inside, they replaced a bunch of stuff outside, and tried
that crap about me being too far from the switch, even though I was less
than 10k feet and should have at least got 3 megs. I was lucky to get 1.5,
on most days I'd hit around 7 or 800k. This went on for over 2 years. I
hate comcast, but switched over last month out of frustration. Now I'm
gettin 20 to 24 meg. With all the netflix, hulu and online streaming I get
through SageTV, it would have to almost be free before I'd switched back,
especially after the customer service I got from AT&T.

    I'm hitting 20.87 here, http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/
and that's with my son in the next room playing an online game that's
    sucking up the bandwidth.
