    Hi,

I have an old and beloved Roland A-90 EX and I think it's on it's last
legs (especially with an annoying bug that shifts the piano down half a
step mid-playing!). I'm an amateur piano player who doesn't know much
about MIDI or creating complex stuff. HOWEVER I like playing a lot of
variety (as in patches) and am drooling over the RD-700SX. With the
understanding that the A90 is a much older piano and of course the
RD-700SX is "better", do they compare well with each other? In other
words, if I were looking for a piano today and the A90 in the past was
a great piano for me, would I be looking at the RD-700SX?

I'm not exactly sure what I'm asking about since I don't know all the
different options out there. I'm pretty much looking for something as
standalone as the A90, I never had to add any modules or anything else.
Just plug-in and play. I hope my question makes sense.

I have an A-90 EX with a VE-RD1 card and love it. I'm /guessing/ the
trouble is in the sound card. (That card is underneath the glass plate in
the middle of the control panel.) If you don't want to replace the card,
maybe you're looking for a fresh change of instrument.

    I've never played the RD-700.
