A kid I did a recording for this week says he can't download the above link.
He keeps getting a "Quicktime Pro" screen.

I can download this file on all three of my computers.....I'm not sure...the
kid may have a Mac if that makes any difference.

    TIA

    Thanks Bob.
I can't duplicate his problem. If I can't figure it out I'll just have to
burn him a CD and mail it :)

With Firefox, when I first clicked it, it tried to play it with Quacktime,
and then told me I needed to download more of that piece of shit. Rather
than doing that, I pulled down Firefox's Tools menu, went to options,
clicked applications, and then scrolled down where there were two instances
of Wave Sound, which both said Quacktime. I clicked the little drop down
list and selected Windows Media Player, and now it works.

He's probably wrong, especially if he has iTunes installed.

    Here's the problem.

When I click on that link, using Firefox to download the file,
I too get a Quicktime player in a window. My default handler
for (plain ol') .wav files is supposed to be Winamp,

However, your filetype shows as an audio/x-wav object. My guess is
that your provider has configured the mime types in the server this
way. The end-user experience is going to be based on the mime type
as well as the browser configuration. You might address the issue
with your hosting service and get their advice on how best to set up
your site for these types of downloads.

I would suggest using LAME to convert to a high-quality MP3 and make
that available. Or tell the customer to right-click and "Save As..."

Thanks for the suggestions. But that's all I want him to do is right-click
    save.
Not click on the file to play it. I know that can cause problems.
I can do it on every computer I've come across today.

Plays streaming from the web, downloads and plays locally just fine on a
    MacBook Pro here in SFO.

My aunt has a Mac. Mac mice are weird; right clicking isn't always
available, and doesn't always work when it's sposed to. I just
downloaded the file twice on my Droid (your link and the other ). Of
course , if he's a Mac user his smartphone, if he has one, is
probably an iPhone and may have Quick Time too.

Hey Russ...I think the problem is he has a Mac and can't right click save
    as.

I've accessed my file from about a dozen computers so far without a hitch.
