I assume that your midi tracks are related to external midi device, not VST-instruments. Your midi tracks don't make any sound, they are just a bunch of numeric messages that are sent to your external sound module. The sound module obeys, makes the sounds and then spit it out from its *audio outputs* (the 2 outputs that are probalbly linked to your mixing deks via jack plugs). For your midi track to be converted in audio track, you have to record what's coming from the audio input of your card on wich your sound module *audio* output is sending its sounds to. You now have to activate the said inputs in cubase (peripherals/VST input, set the one your sound module is plugged into to "active"). Create an audio track that have your said input as source. Soloe your midi track along with your new audio track. Set your audio track to "record ready" and record your track. Huey
make sure you have selected the right ASIO driver to export your audio file Files ===> export ==> audio mix ==> here to select the file format, compression or not and so on. In the export audio menu you have to select the right driver gerard http://www.gerardferini.com/ "attaboy" <> wrote in message news:... > Hi, I am using sx3, both midi track and audio track are audible, just > can't get midi track converted to audio, the audio track can be > created, but no wav form been picked up, the book says, I should > connect midi output to audio input, could someone advise me how and > where to go about with this. > thanks very much
