I bought this cable from ebay to connect my Yamaha PSR E213 to my PC, however midi data isn't being sent to or from the keyboard.

When I try to send midi data to the keyboard the activity light on the cable flashes but the keyboard doesn't receive anything and when I to to send data to the PC nothing happens. The activity light doesn't flash at all.

I have installed the drivers. I think the cable might be defective. Can anyone help? Thanks.

I've got a similar cable - there should be a midi in and midi out light that flashes when data is transmitting.

Firsth thing - make sure the plugs are in the right places (in/out).

What are you using on the PC to test the connection?

    Hej, hej boxerfangg,

did you connect the midi cabels in the right way? Y-man has mentioned this already. Here in detail:

Midicable-OUT has to go in keyboards Midi-IN

Midicable-IN has to go to keyboards Midi-OUT

Yep I've connected both ways just to make sure. I used Anvil Studio and this to test the connection.
