Hello all, Well, it's been a long time since I did anything with Cubase (my version is vst5.1). Anyhow, I have a new PC...Windows 7, 64bit o/s..8 Gb ram etc...and a Roland UR80 interface...all up a very fast machine. I now want to get back into some home recording. As a teacher I can get Cubase 5 essentials for less than $100, and the software will be sufficient for what I want to do (some guitar tracks with a few midi tracks). So, my question is (despite some reading on the Steinberg site)...will Essentials 5 work on my win7 64 bit machine? Thanks, Paul

Also (and I'm somewhat annoyed!)..it seems after contacting Roland, my UR80 won't work with win 7 64 bit either, as there are no drivers released (or will be). However, there is a windows vista driver available (which Roland tells me won't work)..however...win 7 has a compatibility mode or something (just read how to do that on a website)..but I'm reticent to start stuffing around with the new computer. I know that Cubase 5 studio works on win 7 and the disk contains both 32 and 64 bit installers..so that maybe an option for me...although I don't need all the bells and whistles. The many free sequences available are stating to look good to me! Paul > >
