I just downloaded it yesterday - noticed there was not chat here so I
    thought I would mention it.

The iPhone remote is out. I don't think it is fully functional yet but
the basic transport stuff works very well and is absolutely cool as
    hell.

You will need to go to http://www.steinberg.net/en/support/steinberg_support_downloads.html
then to the popup window for Content and Accessories and click on
Steinberg SKI Remote. Its the little app you need to make connection
with your iphone from you computer.

Then when you install it you'll need to set it up in devices by
clicking the + at the top left and adding it. If you want a password
you check the box on the right inside the SKI panel.

I've tried it out. I can't see that my arming track feature talked
about is functioning. Start, stop, rewind, fast forward, record all
    work fine though.

My guess is that there will be a bunch of bathroom sounding vocals
pretty soon - but then that is probably a very good thing.

    Enjoy

Is it fast enough? I would expect a really immediate response from a remote.

Its really fast on what I tried it for. I just tested it with a vocal
track punching in and out, rewind and all of that. I think it works
exactly as fast as any other control surface including the monitor and
mouse. I'm sure there is a millisecond delay but I could never tell.

Do you have to have the phone on in the studio to use this?

You have to have it in touch with your wifi connection. I can actually
run cubase from my yard if I had a reason to.

I've been playing with this for a while now. There are some functions
that I can't seem to make work or I have misunderstand what they were
suppose to do but other then that I think I can't live without this.
I'd by an iphone just for this app - really! A completely portable
transport for free for cubase ROCKS! I can move around from instrument
to instrument and never drag a mouse or keyboard again. Talk about
freedom. I still cant tweak the pres from the other side of the glass
but I can run the transport and that is a major step up in ease.

OK, provided you can turn off the phone transmitter to prevent any stray
interference. I don't have an iPhone, so I don't know. I guess it could
also work with the iPod touch, which does not have a phone in it if it
    uses WiFi?

Yes, the ipod TOUCH also works. Even though, an ipod is probably not as
    megacool as an iphone.

    Anyway, I don´t care about either... ;-)

Face it, if you have an iPhone people will love your music more
because you are mega cool and it will naturally show through :)

Anyway, I've been loving this thing since I downloaded it. I guess I
really hate wires and never really understood how much until now.

As for the iPHone part of the the setup, you can silence your phone so
you don't hear anything. All you do is flip a switch on the side and
silent. If someone calls you will see a few seconds of a message
saying you have a call but if you ignore it then it will go back to
your counter - BUT I am guessing at that since I have not had any
calls while using it yet. That is what happens with other apps. The
cubase ic might block that and I just haven't realized it yet.

I told my wife last night that I thought it would be worth having the
iphone for the remote all by itself. Maybe it does more for me then
for others but the freedom really is amazing. I know the new school
needs to look at pictures but we old schoolers never had anything but
a triangle and spinning tape reel to look at. Having the time and
everything in front of me is more then I need to play along and get
the the song to media (funny - just typed tape and had to fix it :)
I really feel like I went back in time for comfort. Old school was
    much easier for me.
