No real reason for this except perhaps as a diversion from religious
confrontation, oh and from that clown who's moaning about me for
posting a link to my website (??!!!)

    Have a look here: http://www.cubase6.co.uk/

Not much there really but this is interesting:

    Dear Cubase users,

While we are flattered to see that people are already talking about
Cubase 6, I can tell you officially, that we definitely won't be
    releasing Cubase 6 this year.

    Best regards,

Hey LL - I'd love to see your links. I'd love to hear your Promo! If
its good, I'll learn something. If its bad I might be able to give you
my thoughts - ether way, its about music and if you make music with
Cubase then I think it belongs here.

Don't worry what the other losers say. Remember, most people hang out
in these rooms because they don't have anything going on. You might be
able to learn things from them so keep coming..... Its the ones that
tell you that you cannot do something that will never learn from you.
The reason they say you cannot, is because they believe they cannot.

Keep up the promotions. I hope you make lots of money and live a long
    and healthy life.

OH- And I did the tunes but hate your player. I don't know for sure if
it is your player or the way my mac handles it but it takes a long
time to load a song before it starts to actually play.

I have a player that I use for my old tunes that is free as a link but
costs a few bucks as a widget. This is the link to mine if you want to
see it and feel it out.
    http://www.podsnack.com/playlists/800bd035a542862154eac9635ba39541
please take note that the songs on the player are somewhere in the
80's and only a few are in the 90's...... we're talking old - but I
wanted to show you the player and not the songs.

It loads fast and looks and plays nice.

Good luck - make more tunes

Thanks for that. The player on my site seems to work ok here, but I'll
see what others have to say and change it if necessary. I'll certainly
check yours out. I'm no expert at building websites so any help/advice
    is always welcome.

Thanks also for taking the time to look. My stuff may not be
everyone's cup of tea but its what I do. I'm always open to
constructive critisism...that's the point of groups like this...and I
readily accept that sometimes the feedback maybe negative. That's how
    we learn.

I intend to carry on making music as long as I'm on the planet. It
won't make me rich though...I'm well past the age for recording deals
and that stuff. Its a labour of love these days and what better reason
    is there?

Kind regards...and sorry for sounding off about the religious stuff!!
It was all getting a bit out of hand though.......LL

    Never say that.
You should hear the stuff that's made it straight to the top of the
    charts here....
I mean, even I made it into the charts and I'm no composer :)
And who needs recording deals when we have iTunes?

You're right I guess. Maybe I should more assertive about my songs.
Indeed some of the stuff that's charted here in the UK over the years
has been pretty awful. But I choose to be realistic in my
expectations. That way I don't get hurt! Besides, I aint young and my
particular style of rock has its roots way back. That doesn't make it
bad music of course, but you know what I mean.

My long term plan is to release an album...when I say release, I mean
that I'll maybe have a couple of hundred CD's pressed to give away at
gigs and to anyone who might be interested. Anything beyond that would
be a hell of a bonus, but you never know!! Anyway I have a long way to
go before that happens. The stuff on my website is mostly at what I'd
call demo level. The plan is to complete say 25 songs and then cherry
pick the best ones..revisit them, fixing anything as required, and
then have a go at mastering them. Getting consistent mixes could well
be the hardest job of all. I'd love to be able to pay a professional
to do it for me..but that simply isn't an option, so its down to me.
Its something to aim for and I'm genuinely exited about completing it.
Out of interest Max, how did you make it into the charts and when? Its
a genuine question..I like to know what others have achieved.

And your contribution to this newsgroup so far is? Come on mate, tell
us who you are and what you know. I could take an educated guess but
that would be most unfair wouldn't it?

Like others here, I have plenty 'going on' ..thanks. For starters many
years as a regukar gigging musician, a song writer etc. I make no
secret that I aint top of the tree...but I'm out there and I'm still
doing it, and, believe or not, I have been since I started gigging in
1972!! And before you say anything, that's not a sin, I'm proud of it.
What are you doing apart from spouting off here about absolutely
    nothing at all.

I use Cubase to record my own sings..that's why I'm here. No-one else
seems to mind and I still don't understand your problem.

I was just telling Paulo how much I like a quite life these days. I
    just changed my mind!!..... LL

    Yes of course I do.
It all depends on what you want to accomplish with your music.
If you want to make music for the fun of it, that's one of the best
reasons! And you should really keep on doing it, since you never know
what kind of gems may come from that :)

There is actually a lot of mastering software out there.
A lot of crap as well of course, but you might wanna check out some of
    it.

    >Out of interest Max, how did you make it into the charts and when? Its

First time was back in 1999 I believe.
Since I am a professional DJ I am into dance music and a friend and I
came up with a gimmick which 'carried' the song quite well.
What do you say to the DJ? **** you!
Kind of a statement against all the ego-DJ's out there.
It caught on pretty fast and massively but after the first 10.000
copies (actual CD-singles, back then) we (of course) had some issues
with the record company and they quit pressing the single.
So 2 years ago, we released a new version of the song, but only as a
download. That also did quite well and keeps my friend and me up to
    our ears in gigs :)

I also have credits as producer and mixer on some Dutch dance tracks
and party-house tracks, and I do voice-overs for commercials and dance
acts such as T-Spoon and 2 Unlimited.
It didn't make me a millionaire, but I am doing what I love, I have a
nice house (no mansion) and drive a very nice car :)
I have a new project which I'm working on which has been transformed
from a dance single into a whole CD and it will be released around
    november.

Good to hear you're doing well. A totally different musical genre to
me of course, but that's great. I do what I do, but my musical tastes
    go right accross the board.

I've every respect for anyone who can make a living from it. You sound
like you're well involved with a number of projects. All power to you
for that Max. For long perods of my life that's exactly what I've
done. I've never been famous and I havn't made a fortune but its
better than most day jobs I can think of! These days the money I make
from gigging still contributes to my earnings...but I have to do some
driving work to top up the coffers. It aint a bad life though.

    Cheers....LL

Oh so do mine... everything from german minimal and techno to Deep
Purple.. I hardly exclude anything. A few weeks ago I went to see
    (pianist) Sokolov in Amsterdam.
And while the music you make won't be my first choice to play in my
car, I do enjoy listening to it every now and then.

Same here: I don't need fame, fortune would be wasted on me but I
enjoy what I do and I don't get dirty hands :)

The worse song I ever wrote made it into the charts and now I'm
haunted with it in movies and other people covering it.

There are two things that make a song hit the charts, first its money.
Loads of money gets dropped on a song before most people start asking
to hear it without being told to hear it. Second, occasionally you hit
a gimmick at the right time and place. A few months back I did a
parody to MargaritaVille called BP's Oil Spill. I posted it the song
and within a day, I had more then a dozen radio stations playing it
including the biggest country station in the USA. I actually had to
tell stations they couldn't play it because I hadn't properly cleared
    it yet.

Charts don't mean much since radio only pays on a sampling. you have
to be at the extreme top to make any real money from it. The thing
that pays is playing live and selling your merch. I've gotten lazy
over the years but if you stick with it, it's easy to make a living.
People like a brand name. If you stick it out for a few years, you'll
become a brand name even if you suck- that's the funny part about it.
