Can somebody explain in majorly plain English what the different quantize options actually mean. For instance: Over Quantize Iterative Quantize Quantize Lengths Quantize Ends Freeze Quantize I've read the manual over and over again but they seem to assume that I already know what quantize actually means. Many thanks for any help -- Marvy

A simple Google Search using the words Cubase and Quantize, turned up this little gem: http://www.piotrmusial.com/tutorials/piotrmusial_tutorial2.pdf

Hi, To quantize a note is to change an algorythm in order to move a note position so that this position gets closer (or even matches exacly) a the nearest predefined value of a quantification grid. Example: -I play quarter notes on my keyboards. But I have no rythm and all my quarter notes are slightly late or early. I select a "1/4 note grid quantize" and quantize my poorly but humanly played notes: their position is now exacly on each beat, like a machine woiuld have played them. Once you understood what quantize was, you can progressively understand all the "quantize" versions. It's all a amatter of different quantize grid and quantize value. You'll cope. Huey
