    Hi,

I used to make noise through a Yamaha MU50, then the S-YXG50 VLM
softsynth that I used with XGEdit95. Then I switched to Edirol Hyper
Canvas and now I'm putting my fingers back on the VSTi version of
S-YXG50. Problem is, XGEdit95 won't recognize VST plugins. So, is there
a VST XG editor compatible with this sound generator ?

    Thanks,
    RVG

    I have a related question...I too still have the S-YXG plugin...Cubase
will recognise it but you can't change or modify any of the sounds.
This was possible when I first started out way back with Cubase
VST5...but, as far as I know, it was never fixed after SX1. It is, of
course, a very old plugin so I've more or less given up on it. Its a
shame because for generic midi sounds it was quite handy and better
than Universal Sound Module and the likes.

    Ideas anyone?.........LL

I tried to use it with Band in a Box, but there's a bug with the
Creative driver that BSODS with a fatal error in hal10kx2k.sys.

So it's back to Edirol Hyper Canvas. Anyway, I play the piano lead with
the uebercool Modartt Pianoteq VSTi that is extremely stable with
asio4all. Bass and drums are live with the occasional tenor sax soloist.

Check the links in my sig to listen to the results.

Edirol Hyper Canvas integrates both GM2 and Roland GS sound patches. Not
as good as Yamaha, but more stable on my system.
