I guess the best way to find out what I need is to scour the web.
But I'm hoping I will get some good advice here aswell!

I have done composing in Reason, but I am getting tired of the
computer as my interface for creativity. I have therefore gone on
a mission to find some Real equipment for Trance/House/Ambient sounds.

I am searching for the best hardware synths to accomodate my needs. As
my budget is $1000/unit, so far I have found liking in the Roland
JP-8000, Nord Lead 2 and Waldorf Microwave XTk. I have no chance of
seeing or touching these beings with my own flesh, so therefore I
    would like some Advice on:

-Are these three keyboards very similar in sound, so it is a mistake
to buy say a Nord Lead 2 keyboard + JP-8080 Rack + Microwave XT Rack?
-Are there any other *kickass* keyboard-synths you would recommend (at
    most $1000 for Trance/House/Ambient)?

I will buy either one keyboard-integrated-synth + rack modules or one
noname midi keyboard + rack modules. Advice:

-Which way would you go and why?

Rack modules I have done less research in, but have found liking in
are (the mentioned JP-8080, Microwave XT, Nord Rack 2) Waldorf Pulse,
Roland JV-2080, Oberheim Matrix 1000 *G* there are so many. Advice:

-Are these suitable for Trance/House/Ambient (tell me if they only fit
    one genre)?
-Are they all worth buying or is one better than the other?
-Any moooooore racks you think I should check out?

That's about it, I thank thee for reading this post and I would thank
thee even more for your opinion!

I wish I knew how to distinguish between "Trance/House/Ambient" and
a dozen other flavors of contemporary dance music. It seems to be
an understood thing among fans of the genre, but not something that can
be readily put to canonical description. The distinctions seem to be
quite vague and ambiguous. What's GOA? How is it different from
    Jungle?
