Sorry to post a more general question here but thought the expertise on this group could help. I have 2 genelec speakers connected to my usb audio box via 1/4" jacks to XLR's into the back fo the genelecs. I get seriously bad interference through the speakers now with what sounds like data artifacts (i.e. when the mouse is moved or the hard drive accessed it becomes more pronounced. I have a feeling that this may relate to balanced and unbalanced connections but I have no idea what that means if I'm honest. Can anyone enlighten me? And is there a simple solution. I was previously going out from a mixing desk's 1/4" jack outputs which was similarly connected (via firewire) to my desktop and had no interference. Many Thanks and apologies for being off topic.. H

Are we talking about a desktop or laptop computer? If a laptop, what happens if you disconnect the power adapter and run on battery? CubaseFAQ page: http://www.laurencepayne.co.uk/CubaseFAQ.htm
