hiya guys. Just to introduce myself to you all my name is ronnie i live in northern ireland im 49 years old and have been playing keyboard, guitar and/or bass in bands since the mid 70s. The last ten years ive been playing mostly guitar and have been recently been asked to jump back on the keyboard with a local covers band. Im absolutely amazed at how far technology has moved since i last played in anger and realise im now completely out of my depth. Hence your forum, i hope i dont bore the ass of you guys with my stupid questions and inane drivellings. There is one question i need help with straight away and hope some one can assist,so here goes the band want to play a cover of shine on you crazy diamond so ive learned all the parts but the problem is sustaining the long Gm chord at the start on my korg sp200 using strings and layered organ while i play the intro solo using the modulation wheel on my m audio controller running an expanded jv1080.Is it possible to use a sustain pedal on the korg to hold the chord or are any other options available. forgive me if this sounds incredibly stupid but as i say ive been outta the loop for a while. Any help would be really appreciated.
Welcome to the forum. Perhaps the easiest way to find the answer to this specific question is to plug in a sustain pedal to your specific equipment and give it a try. What might work on other keyboard set-ups isn't necessarily guaranteed to work on your gear combination. B3
problem solved.....noisy boss rt20 Many thanks for replying B3 bought a korg sustain pedal yesterday and just tried it out, excellent results, works beautifully no decay. if only life were always so simple. Also bought a boss rt20 leslie simulator pedal yesterday love the leslie sound, not perfect but decent enough in a live mix but ive noticed that when i turn the unit off it still seems to be causing a slightly distorted sound to my keyboard mix. Anyone else got one and any similar problems.
