I'm thinking about putting together a system from scratch for audio/video desktop recording. I'm a beginner to recording (mainly a hobby) so I'm hoping someone could recommend what and where to buy all the hardware. I can do about $750 to $1,000 range (I plan to continue using same monitor). What is the best motherboard, processor, audio card, video card, case, etc.. I'll be feeding it guitars, synths, mics... using cubase sx. What to get is rather confusing to me. Thanks in advance
You might need the following: A very fast computer with a large hard disk and large RAM (any kind, even AMD processor). Spend as much money as you have. A special sound or audio card for musicians, that has MIDI interface and one or 2 inputs for a guitar/microphone, - many people use the M Audiophile Delta Cubase (you have already) A keyboard (it may be quite simple, just very short, 25-49 keys, with no extra features, should have a USB connection or at least MIDI in/out. Thats all. However, the MIDI sounds that come with the soundcard or Windows may not be sufficient for you. You could buy Halion, a VST sampler, which is a software that has really nice sounds of all kinds real instruments or synths, better than in real life. If you are not the best drummer in the world, you could also use Groove agent. Virtual guitarist can make rhythm guitars (even real guitarist use it). bovril "sean" <> schrieb im Newsbeitrag news:HYZ0c.9640667$... > I'm thinking about putting together a system from scratch for audio/video > desktop recording.
