Hi all. I could use some help with a repair/adjustment. The mod wheel on my MIDIBoard isn't centered correctly. When I let go of it and the springs center it, it's sending MIDI CC-mod values between 5 and 10. I have to push it forward about an 1/8" to get it to send 0. How do I fix this? Is it adjustable by programming? Assuming not, is there a trim pot inside, or do I have to loosen the set screw from the wheel to the pot shaft and tweak it physically? If so, can someone tell me how to open the thing up? Thanks, David
i had an issue on my PC2x where the modwheel would make the whole keyboard go out of tune. the kurzweil tech told me to look at the MIDI messages to confirm because the PANIC button would reset it. he recommended to get it serviced and replace it. sounds like you have the same problem. alex "unfrostedpoptart" <> wrote in message news:... > Hi all. > > I could use some help with a repair/adjustment. Thanks for the reply, but I'm looking for info on how to fix it myself. I'm an electrical engineer and I've fixed many synths. I just don't have info on the MIDIBoard. I doubt it needs the wheel replaced, and if it did, I doubt Kurzweil would have parts sitting around for a keyboard that's over 20 years old. I guess I'll just start removing screws until it opens up! David p.s. - the pitch wheel doesn't center right either > > alex > > > "unfrostedpoptart" <> wrote in message > news:... > > Hi all. > > > > I could use some help with a repair/adjustment. i'm an electrical engineer as well! keyboard player! Kurzweil probably won't have that exact modwheel, but maybe you can peel one off of another keyboard or something, those usually have the same footprint. Anyway, I don't need to tell you this, you can assess the situation. good luck! alex "unfrostedpoptart" <> wrote in message news:... > > Alex Cusenza wrote: >> i had an issue on my PC2x where the modwheel would make the whole >> keyboard >> go out of tune. the kurzweil tech told me to look at the MIDI messages >> to >> confirm because the PANIC button would reset it. he recommended to get >> it >> serviced and replace it. sounds like you have the same problem. > > Thanks for the reply, but I'm looking for info on how to fix it myself. > I'm an electrical engineer and I've fixed many synths.
