    Hi....
I have a K2500rs with 128 megs of ram. It has ver.3.02 os.
I am attempting to add a scsi cd-rom and a Glyph 9 gig hard drive. I have
attempted to install all at once and separately.
I have terminators for all units when installed separately. When I select the
device the K2500 does a quick reset and comes back up with the original
programs. All is normal until I press load.
At that point it resets itself. Both of these devices are supposedly
compatible with this unit. What am I doing wrong??
I'm sure it is something simple and you have all the answers off the top of
your head. PLEASE...help me get this working...
    Thanks,
    Coop

    Two quick questions:

    1) What are the SCSI id numbers of the respective devices?
    2) How do you have your SCSI chain terminated?

Knowing the answers to these questions, I _might_ be able to help --
    similar rig myself.

    Hi Michael.......
Yes I double checked the channel on the devices.
    Yes they are correctly terminated.
I am able to recognize the cd drive when I go to disc.
As soon as I push load the screen goes blank and then reboots.
I could not get it to recognize my Glyph hard drive.
I wonder how these devices are booted up on the Kurz?
On a computer you would have to
load a disc for drivers information.

    Odd !!!

    Anyway,thanks for the reply.
I am gladly seeking advice on this.
I hear that scsi for samplers is a good source of info.
I plan to email them tomorrow.
I am yet to get a reply from Kurzweil.
You would think that they would
try to keep their supporters happy.

This makes me want Tascam Gigasampler.
    Anybody else have any suggestions?

    Please post to group.

    Thanks to all,
    Coop

I think I'd look around here:

    http://www.kurzweilmusicsystems.com/html/scsi_help.html

Perhaps they'll have some ideas that'll help you...

    Hi,

perhaps you have built in the wrong SIMM Modules. I had Problems with my K25,
when my music dealer sold me the Instrument with to "uncomparable" conditions. I
had Problems similar to what you wrote including an "initializing all memory"
each time I switched it on. We had to change the SIMMS (and to build in the more
expensive ones). Afterwards the dealer wanted some hundred Deutschmarks (good
old times) more, "because of a counting error", which I refused to pay.

I have a K2, aK25 and a K26, each one behaves like an individual diva. They are
switched in one SCSI-Chain, which I had to try out. Now they work good for
    years.

And contact http://www.k2users.org/ and try to get that special Poison list of
SCSI devices which you should not use for a Kurzweil sampler.

    Hope it helps, Michael, Berlin

    Thanks for the reply.
I have decided to sell this unit in favor of a K2600x.
I hope the next owner can figure it out.
    Anybody got $800 for a K2500rs?
