Hey Ive just started playing the keyboard. A dream of mine has always been to get into music production so i started creating my self a little home studio and of course the first item i bought was a 49 key alesis keyboard it was the best thing within my budget. Learning music theory, scales and chords and how to compose melody's are things that im gonna have to learn and practise so i have decided to try to teach myself and learn how to play the keyboard. So far ive learned all about chord progressions and how they work, and some basic theory and ive started lesson's on zebra keys and have mastered a few nursery rhymes lol . Anyway if anyone has any advice or resources i should check out please post. Many thanks christian
When I compose, tend to go melody first (hum a tune that appears out of nowhere, or write down a sentence / lyrics and find the "natural tune" it goes with. Chords come after that. On the other hand, if I am improvising, it's just getting 4-8 chords in a nice progression and just jamming along with it.... The Y-man
