I understand the concept of midi and audio totally, I think I was just get confused over all the vst connection set up, and thought I could hook up the in/out internally, once I started that I was just all confused, because I once was able to really did convert the file by swithching around the in/out. and I've playing around with three different sound cards with all kind of possiblilities. it all comes down to the most simple method, and the ones people always ignored. althought I am still not clear about all the routing things, but what the heck. you've been a great help. thanks!
