Get rid of 90% of the clutter in the GUI.
After spending more time in FL Studio and Ableton, I fail to see how
putting every button imaginable promotes better workflow.

It still has one of the best piano roll views.

I want 5 rows of buttons and a console view that isn't resizable! <g>

You're right. You should only see what you use.
I've gotten rid of a lot of the clutter by customizing these views.
You can get rid of all those buttons. I've even used key bindings to
disable certain hot keys, so I don't accidently graze one and do
something unintended. You can also customize the upper menus (File,
Edit, View, etc) and save your own trimmed down version. Also in the
track pane you can customize those tab views at the bottom, so you
only see what you want to see.

    You should try Ranos!

It's the reverse engineered version of Sonar where
everything good is bad and everything bad is good! <g>

Dnalor has the marketing genius to come up with catch phrases like:

"Looks like real drums" and "Photorealistic drum kit page" for the features
of Session Drummer 2. And that's what you want with a drum plugin, is for
it to *look* like real drums. <g>

Yes, how a drum plugin sounds is inconsequential. How it looks is what
really matters, and the more it looks like real drums the better!!!

I'm working on this new drum plugin. So far, all I have is the

There is some truth to that. Eye candy has a lot do with what people
will buy. I liked the 8 bit graphic look of Ableton.

I bought Reason for it's eye candy.

Battery and Drumcore don't have a pretty GUI like the other drummer apps.

It doesn't look like real drums. Heck, it doesn't even look like
EZdrummer although they obviously tried reeeaaaalllll hard to do that.

It sounds worse than it looks. And the drag and drop implementation is
    the worst in the genre.
