    Hello,

I have the chance to purchase a 2600X Synth apparently brand new... With
ROM1 (Orchestral), ROM2 (Contemporary) and the daughterboard. It says that
it is "B" Stock? The price is $2699 and I'm wondering if this is a steal or
    not...

Any info would be great... If you reply directly to me, please remove the
    (remove) and (me)

    Thanks in advance!

Don't waste your money, Yamaha is almost shipping the new MOTIF ES which
    blows the 2600x socks off.

    Check it out.

This is a pretty good price -- less than regular dealer wholesale, I
    believe.

Kurzweil does occasionally make "B" stock available to dealers. At
the store I work at, we've sold several "B" stock units and had zero
difficulties with them, so that should be a good deal.

It's true that other boards will do things that the K2600 will not.
It is also true, however, that the K2600 will do things that other
boards will not. IMHO, you need to figure out what YOU need and what
sounds YOU like, and figure out which board will get that done...

Bear in mind that there's a pretty big sound library out there for the
K2600, because it will load and play sounds designed for the K2500 and
the K2000, which came out in 1991, so there's a HUGE library
available. However, the Motif has some pretty good sounds in it right
    out of the box.

So yeah, that's a pretty good price. I've seen used ones that sold
    for nearly that much...

Sounds good to me. I paid more for my K2500X (several years go, when
the K2500X was a current model) and that is without ROM blocks,
without sample memory and without KDFX.

Assuming you get a normal warrantee and a convenient dealer to take it
for servicing (in case there's a problem, since it is "B" stock), I'd
    go for it.

For comparison, MSRP on a K2600X is $4595.

    See

    for product information.
