E-mailing Kurzweil is a waste of time, apparently. Anyone know of some place to get power adapters? The Specifics are... 12V DC 0.5 amp center pin positive 5.5mm OD 2.5mm ID coax type plug *shrug* I am no electrician. And since I can't get Kurzweil to respond, perhaps somebody here knows how to go about getting one? Any help would be appreciated.
Have you tried Radio Shack or the dealer you bought the instrument from? If that fails, contact me at and I'll see what I can do for you. Don't slag on poor Jean (the lone guy that answers the Kurzweil tech support email from the website, meaning email from around the globe = lots of email daily). The guy has quite a daunting job and usually doesn't get much in the way of recognition except when someone is complaining. :-\ Brett Guillory Kurzweil Keyboard Department Manager Hall Piano Company Metairie, LA 70003 "Radiohead" <> wrote in message newstLYb.9914$... > E-mailing Kurzweil is a waste of time, apparently. Only one man answers all the e-mail? That's a fricken nightmare! Ah... well I did get one at Radio Shack, finally. But, it looks as though the power supply isn't the problem. The keyboard will come on, but it no longer makes any sound. Back when this first started, the sound was somewhat distorted, then I would have to turn off the keyboard and turn it on several times before I could get any sound out of it. Now it simply will not produce a single sound. I guess it's broken! Ah well... was a fine keyboard, when it worked. I was thinking of getting the PC1X. I don't know, though. I'm afraid to spend that much money on something that could work for a couple of weeks and then suddenly stop. I'm a bit torn up about this. All that money down the drain. > Have you tried Radio Shack or the dealer you bought the instrument from? > > If that fails, contact me at and I'll see what I can do > for you. How long have you been having the keyboard? When did it start to exhibit this strange behavior? What kind of conditions are you playing it in (home, studio, gigging, outside gigs, etc...)? Has the keyboard ever been dropped, experienced a physical shock or jarring, had the power cord or audio cable tripped over and pulled on while plugged in, etc...? Assuming no adverse conditions or abuse to the instrument, you may have just gotten a bad board. This happens in any industry. Quality control in the Kurzweil factory has been SIGNIFICANTLY upgraded with recent changes in managment and the boards we've seen come out are much more reliable. Brett G. Contact Kurzweil and ask them for the contact information for DG Audio Repair in Washington. If it can be fixed, he can fix it.
