I'm an old-school synth guy, and I'm looking for a (preferably new) analog-style synth for hobby purposes that doesn't cost too much. The MicroKORG caught my eye. One of my favorite synths was the old Akai AX80, which I sold many years ago and soon regretted it after sampling newer (early 90's vintage) digital offerings. I've since lost touch with current product offerings, but now I got the itch to get back into it. Since my intended use would be strictly for fooling around and for teaching my kids about synthesizers, something straightforward and cheaper is preferred. Anyway, I'm looking for opinions on the MicroKORG or similar models. I like the programming interface on the Korg much better than the Alesis Micron, but it seems like the Micron is fairly popular. I'm not looking to get into a serious musician's synth (been there, sold that)--but I am quite familiar with the technical aspects of synthesizers and I want something I can sink my teeth into. Would a MicroKORG fit the bill? Thanks, Doug
