I've just had to reinstall Cubase SX3 after a drive crash. The set up has gone OK, but now when I try to record Midi data from a controller keyboard every note I play jumps back to the start of the track, instead of being recorded at the point it was played. This looks like a quantize error; I'm fairly certain I've got I've got quantize turned off but I'm not an expert user, and this may be the problem. What's really annoying is that I remember having this problem before, and when I finally fixed it after a lot of fafing about it wasn't anything that complex. Any help or advice ASC members can offer would be very welcome. DC --

I think the problem is with my Midi Port setup... DC
try the 'use system timestamp' setting in your midi devices setup screen..... Yes, I did that, just one stage in a long process including shifting a file called 'enableemulate' around which eventually fixed the problem. Thanks for the replies.
