I don't have the boxes for these anymore. What I'm worried about is static electricity and removing it when they get unpacked and booted up. I don't have any anti static material and time is short to remedy that. Any advice for packing, unpacking, ect.
Ground yourself well before and when packing; do the same before and when unpacking. That's all I've ever done and not had a failure yet. YMMV of course... -- Sue Morton "kitekrazy" <> wrote in message news:i10jlo$kcn$-september.org... > I don't have the boxes for these anymore. Drive a six foot solid copper stake into the ground outside your house, attach a length of 6 gauge braided cable to the stake and feed it into the house. Hold the other end of the cable in your mouth while un-packing your electronic gear!!! <G> -- Remove YourHeadFromYourAss to Reply by email ________ __ / ____/ /__ ____ ____ / /_ ____ / / __/ / _ \/ __ \/ __ \/ __ \/ __ \ / /_/ / / __/ / / / / / / /_/ / /_/ / \____/_/\___/_/ /_/_/ /_/_.___/\____/ --------------------------------------------------------------------- Glennbo http://www.soundclick.com/glennbo Non-Linear Sound http://www.soundclick.com/jambits Hear My Music http://www.soundclick.com/ThePseudonyms

Buy boxes from U-Haul center. Use newspaper for packing. Take each separate page and crumble. Works GREAT! I've moved more times than I can remember - military. -- Cheers, Ben

Boxes from tech manufacturers are excellent. I was hoping he would have sold a mid tower case so I can put one of my DAWs in that. I've got bubble wrap and Styrofoam.

In almost 30 years I have never, ever known anyone to lose any electronic component to static electricity. Ever. Lightning, yes, plenty of times. But not static discharge. Just box it up and go.

That unit now only works via the remote control. It happened in the middle of Winter when static build up is high though, and I wouldn't expect you could generate much if any static electricity in the middle of Summer, even if you tried. -- Remove YourHeadFromYourAss to Reply by email ________ __ / ____/ /__ ____ ____ / /_ ____ / / __/ / _ \/ __ \/ __ \/ __ \/ __ \ / /_/ / / __/ / / / / / / /_/ / /_/ / \____/_/\___/_/ /_/_/ /_/_.___/\____/ --------------------------------------------------------------------- Glennbo http://www.soundclick.com/glennbo Non-Linear Sound http://www.soundclick.com/jambits Hear My Music http://www.soundclick.com/ThePseudonyms

Well the acid test is to scruff your shoes on the carpet a bit and then touch a screw on a light switch. If that don't spark, you got nothing to worry about. -- Remove YourHeadFromYourAss to Reply by email ________ __ / ____/ /__ ____ ____ / /_ ____ / / __/ / _ \/ __ \/ __ \/ __ \/ __ \ / /_/ / / __/ / / / / / / /_/ / /_/ / \____/_/\___/_/ /_/_/ /_/_.___/\____/ --------------------------------------------------------------------- Glennbo http://www.soundclick.com/glennbo Non-Linear Sound http://www.soundclick.com/jambits Hear My Music http://www.soundclick.com/ThePseudonyms

It's very ungreen and rotten to the environment. We find newspaper far cheaper, greener, and static free. -- Cheers, Ben

Static discharge damage by touching - several times!!! Heard it, felt it. They popped out of service IMMEDIATELY. -- Cheers, Ben

You don't have as many free ions floating around in summer - true. Jostling around inside a pool of styrofoam peanuts is another, very different situation. -- Cheers, Ben

When the corporation you work for uses it - that's their stupid problem. ;-) -- Cheers, Ben

The lights still work, but half the electronic dash went out in it, so there's no gas guage or speedometer. The guy that bought it from me to use as a lake car put a GPS system in it so he could tell how fast he was driving. American made cars.
