I'm doing a gig tomorrow with my old touring band. We played on the
road, touring the US in the 70s and 80s for close to 8 years. One of the
guitarists has already been playing in the Big Daddy band with me, but
the other guy, Bruce, who harmonizes with Dave like McCartney with
Lennon, I haven't played live with for quite some time. This is a clip
of us playing live in the 80s. Bruce is the guy in the white shirt.

Bruce is also a very very excellent airbrush artist.
Here's a sample of some of the stuff he's done.

Anyway, the party we're playing tomorrow is at this Asian chick
Amy's place (She's a trip to party with) out in the country with
a big private pond. She owns a liquor store, and gets her supplies
from my liquor distributor neighbor who lives across the street.

It should be a real hoot. :)

Excellent renditions of the Beatles... voices / guitar sounds,
and general settings... Really tight drumming...

So many bands just cannot get the Beatles right - wrong chords
etc.... and this is about as good as the Beatles could have done
    'live' themselves.....

The airbrush artwork is very very good... and it's interesting that
some people have extraordinary talents in completely different
disciplines.. is Bruce a master chef, too? I would not be surprised..

Are you filming the gig? Getting it on Youtube - perchance...??

Thanks. Not only are these guys sticklers for getting all the parts
right, but also using the exact same instruments that were used on the
original recordings. We probably won't have today due to space
limitations, but when we were touring, we usually had somewhere in the
vicinity of 15 guitar and basses on stage, and every few songs we would
have to change up the instruments. We even had a real Indian sitar as
well as a Coral electric sitar. I carried a ton of percussion
instruments including stuff like shakers, maracas, and tambourines that I
would play in my right hand along with a stick, as well as stuff like
bongos, and even a full set of orchestral bells.

I don't think he cooks, but he's done artwork for Disney, Jeep, and a
whole lot of other movies and ads.

    > Are you filming the gig? Getting it on Youtube - perchance...??

I hadn't really thought about doing that. We are supposed to play on a
wood deck or patio (I'm not sure which) that overlooks the big private
pond, and there will supposedly be people also hanging out right there
with us. I might take along a little JVC digital camcorder I have, just
in case there is somewhere I could put it where it won't be in the way or
    get knocked over.

That would have been a blast to play in that band.

We let the audience play "stump the band" with us, and we literally
played a *lot* of songs we've never ever played together, or even
apart. I made a little sampler of us playing this afternoon. One
of the songs we never ever played before was "Amy", which worked out
ok, since it was Amy's birthday party. Anyway, I left in the quick
rehearsals at the beginnings of some of these, so you could see how
we worked them up on the spot. <g>

Oh, and here's a shot of Bruce with his purple and gold Ric 360-12.

Liverpool comes to Meadowbrook. Impressive performance. I played this
for my wife the fist time I remember you posting it.

It's been some time since I was at the T-Bar. The other side was the
    Samari, right?

T-bar was on Western, and the Samurai was on May Ave, but at about the
same area North and South. I posted a clip of us playing yesterday. We
were totally shooting from the hip, playing songs that the people at the
party were calling out. There wasn't one song that anybody requested
that we didn't take a stab at, and we were working them up on stage,
    seconds before playing them. ;)

Good renditions! The dood does a good job on the lead vocals.
