    Hello All -

We are overwhelmed with all the choices of keyboards. We are not sure of going with a korg or yamaha. We play contemporary christian music in in our church and we have a keyboard player which wants to be able to be a one man band if the guitar player and drummer can't make a service. Which would be the best used arranger to purchase since we only have a $2000 budget? We also need weighted keys. We also do not want something to complicated to learn. We really appreciate any help you may offer. God Bless

You can get into a keyboard that does what you want for under $1000 new. You don't have to go with used equipment.

For example the lowest priced weight key Yamaha is the #635 that sels for about $900.

The first step is to go to a music store sit down and play a few. Spend time there and see if they are easy to learn and sound good.

My problem with some of them is what I call the "cable TV Effect" that's "300 channels and nothing is on." In other words don't go by the spec sheets that say "250 styles of accompaniment because you might not like any of those styles. So you just have to try it first hand. Once you find what you want then shop for price. Maybe buy used or "scratch and dent", b-stock or whatever.
