Can anyone tell me if New York Studios Vol. 2 will load into Cakewalk
    Session Drummer ?
What is the file extension for it ? Seems like a pain to buy
Superior Drummer (which looks just like Session Drummer) to utilize New York
    Studios Vol. 2 .
    Thanks

No. Those samples are exclusively made for Superior Drummer 2.

    Thanks.
But, a pretty abrupt answer. Nothing is impossible. It is obvious what
company the samples were made for.
Still, samples are samples. That's why I asked what file format the samples
    were in.

As Glennbo said, they are in Superior Drummer 2.0 format. You could
possibly resample them one drum hit at a time but then you need SD2.0 to
do that so resampling becomes moot.

I think audiomidi.com has SD2.0 for half off right now:

Not when they are proprietary encrypted samples.

Also, a pretty jpg image of a set of drums, does not make a great drum
softsynth. There is no comparison between Superior Drummer 2 and Session
Drummer 2. Superior could have no picture of a set of drums and it would
still be superior to Session Drummer with it's handling of the samples,
it's rendering engine, and it's interfacing with a pad kit.

That's all that exists these days. The only option is to buy loops and
chop them up for the samples or buy those loop libraries that offer
    single hits.

    Thank you, all.

I'm retired and 300 dollars to play with these samples is too much money
just now. It's the old story, "no matter what you have, there is something
    better."
There are too many $300 items to buy out there. I probably have most of them
    !

My option was to buy Superior Drummer 2 and the NY Studios Volume 2.

    Question:
How (in Superior Drummer) do you get tom rolls? Is there a sequencer ?
Cannot find a "tube demo" that shows drum roll creation.
    Thanks

Ain't that the truth, but... audiomidi.com has Superior Drummer for half
price. If you have EZDrummer, you can do the crossgrade for $99.

I do it from my pad kit! http://members.cox.net/glennbo/V-Drums.jpg
But if I weren't a drummer with a pad kit, I'd prolly be using the midi
grooves Superior comes with. Nir Z is a top notch drummer, and most if not
all the midi grooves they include are bits of him playing. You can drag
and drop clips of midi drums (like intros, grooves, fills, etc.) right onto
Sonar or Reaper. You can also create whole songs in it's own sequencer,
but I've never even tried that, since I just play the parts on my pad kit.

I wanted to get Superior so I could get Metal Foundry just in case I
wanted to do some Death Metal. I've already got enough of these drum
    machines with their proprietary formats.
My alternatives were Steven Sate Drums and addons for Drum Core 3.

What's nice about Slate Drums is they use Kontakt. audiomidi will
usually have a sale on expansion kits for $30.

    kite,

You can do *way* more than just metal with Metal Foundry. If you want big kits, with lots of cymbals
and toms etc, this is for you. ;-)
