That's a lot of money invested in two programs that largely duplicate each other! I suggest you ask in the Cubase forum at www.cubase.net. Once you've registered your dongle serial number, you'll find lots of good advice is available. CubaseFAQ page: http://www.laurencepayne.co.uk/CubaseFAQ.htm

When you launch recording, you launch recording on all the tracks that are "record enabled", not only the track wich is selected or displayed. Check with that first. If you still have problems go to the "channel input" panel and deactivate the physical channels where your guitar is not plugged in too. Tell us what happens then If your problem persists, you could look in your audio card manual Because if you head in your newly recorded guitar track another track that already had recorded before, it only can be one thing: a software or a hardware loop is done somewhere (the sound going out of your card is reinjected somehow in the physical input of your card). If you don't see such a pluging, look out for a functiun that is present in some audio cards wich allows to record whatever goes out of the card, but without physical manipulation. Someone called it here a "record what you along when you record the guitar to be recorded as well. Huey PS: Lawrence is only pointing out that the formulation of your questions implies that you're not using *your* softwares. I'm sure that not being able to use them won't incitate you to buy them in the long run, but this is not how things work officially. But maybe you are working in a friend's studio, or maybe these are bundled versions of those software. You see, you just hav to give us more precision (version of the softwares, for instance) in order not to wake the mean Lawrence ;-) And btw, it's true: if you are a musicien, there is no point in learning both Cubase and Nuendo. True. Learn Cubase, with the manual and the F1 key on your keyboard. Take the "getting started" manual, in Italian, and do exactly what they ask you to do. Sometimes, that's enough to solve many problems )

And since when was Nuendo bundled with anything? Laurence (feeling mean). CubaseFAQ page: http://www.laurencepayne.co.uk/CubaseFAQ.htm

Your´re such a bad boy! ;-) But hey, if Cubase or even Nuendo is bundled with Realtek on-board audio, I´ll add that criterium to my list of features, when I look out for my next mainboard upgrade. :-D
