I am a songwriter who writes songs with melodies but want to put my songs to music with vocals as reference tracks. I have a MacBook Pro and a Casio LX-220 and was wondering if this could be used for a beginner producer for a start up home studio. I am going to start piano lessons soon also. I'm not familiar about what is needed to start a home studio. I am new to the studio engineering and music production side. Would the Casio be used as a MIDI? I've looked at the "M-Audio Key Station 61es Semi Weighted" and the "CME VX6 61 Key USB MIDI Controller." I hear I need a sound card, expansion hard drive, microphone, etc. I'll probably get the "Logic Studio" to work with GarageBand. Vocals will primarily be needed for lead, background chorus/hook and ad libs. Again I'm on a budget. PLEASE HELP!!!!
