I ran into a problem with my kurzweil electric piano (mark 5 ensemble grande). The power outlet on the back of the unit where the cord plugs into snapped off its brace and is pushed into the unit. I managed to plug it in fine, but because the cord was inside the piano now, the keyboard cover wouldn't recess into the its hide away slot all the way, and pushing it ended up shorting the device, and now nothing works. Imagine my saddness after having pulled my piano out of storage for 2 years, pulling it out, turning it on, playing two notes, and then in an attempt to push the cover in more, managed to get a small spark and short the device :-( I have no clue if this is something I can fix on my own. Coming from an electrical background a while ago, I'm still stupid enough to think I can fix this, but the sad thing is, I can't figure out how the heck to take this thing apart to get at the electronics. I've removed every obvious screw I can find, and managed to loosen a corner here or there, but nothings budging, and I fear if I apply the wrong amount of pressure, I just might snap and break a piece. Questions: 1. Does anyone have any advice on removing the cover? 2. Is there a service manaual one can buy? I know the unit is no longer sold, but all the more reason for the need to service it. 3. Anyone know of anyone in the metro Boston area that fixes these things? 4. Anyone think there's hope this could be repaired once I get the cover off? Thanks much in advance. Doug
