Recently (maybe since I switched to the free Norton thru Comcast and ditched
Mcafee?) evrytime I want to see a vid on the net a prompt comes up saying i
need to install Adobe Flash 10. Well, I install it but the next time I fire
up my internet computer and want to see a vid--be it youtube, something from
Facebook or just off the news--same thing--that I need to install Flash 10.
    I musta installed it a dozen times---any thoughts>
I know that the prompt wants to install a McAfee scan somethin or other and
I have unchecked that--it gives you the Adobe file and an optional McAfee
    thing--odd..

I'm posting from my phone right now, but I think this is the link:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/155/tn_15507.html
That will tell you if your flash version is the latest one. If it's
not, dl the update and that should get rid of the pop-ups. If it
doesn't, maybe there's a setting in Norton that needs to be tweaked?

Kaspersky is a paid suite that is quite good IMO -- but it slows the
machine down every bit as much as Norton does.

Me, I don't run any of this stuff, just a lean/mean firewall, and keep
my machine fast. *I'm* my best a/v protection bar none. But that
    approach is not for everybody.

Steve Jobs is gonna fix that for ya, by forcing all web designers to use

Hehe, I hear the info that got out might be more than just email addresses,
and could include some hardware info that might be able to be spoofed.

Actually, I usually get this message when I've launched IE from
inside Firefox via IE View plugin. It launches 64-bit IE by default,
which, of course, can't run Flash yet. I don't suppose you are
    running 64-bit IE?

I like noscript for the stuff it blocks, but it can be a hassle sometimes
when you gotta let stuff through. I usually set everything to temporary
allow, if I'm trying to do something like run an online installer.
