Hi everyone, I need to have a monitor that simulates what's heard from a regular TV set. I need it to avoid any surprises when I play a mix on a TV set. From advice I've been given, pro studios used a single auratone passive monitor. I rememebr them from some studios and I agree that it is what I need. Unluckily, Auratone doesn't seem to be existing anymore. What would be a good choice to replace a 5C? (I thought about making something up with an actual TV speaker, but it's too much trouble and I don't have the time to doit). Thanks for your advice. Huey PS: I intend to mix with cubase on this speaker. There, I'm not totally OT ;-=)

Thanks for the idea. Have you used seomthing like it to control some of your mixes yourself? Huey

I run a mono feed into the line in, so as to allow the internal preamp and tone controls to colour the sound as it would be heard. Really handy as another refernece for balancing, and sounds way different from what comes out of the monitors. Very cheap too, since they are often lying around by the side of the road!

There, I'm not totally > OT ;-=) Well, not directly to monitor a mix, but to control it later you could record your mix on an older cassette-recorder (if available) and play it on this cassette-player. So you might have an adequate experience. Greetings Gerd-Ulrich Meyer
