Hey Dave If you're out there, I've been searching for info on ISO booths, and a thread came up in the CW forum with your name on it! I figured I'd just try to get in contact with you on here. I'm moving and it's a pretty quiet neighborhood with a bunch of old people, so I dont want to rock the boat. I want to put an ISO booth in the studio that I'm building in my basement. Nothing big, just something for the singer and for when I want to use one of the amps instead of GR4. I'm having no luck with the ventilation aspect, any way that you could post a couple of the links that you found in your ventures? Any help from you (and anyone else that cares to chime in) would be greatly appreciated! Bob

My AC guy put in extra duct hose and zig zagged it in my attic. I didn't think that the expense justified more than that and it's adequate to keep the family and neighbors happy. My Iso booth has a floating floor and double sliding doors. It's not completely isolated but it works good enough for me. -- Dave "Mod Bod" Modisette http://www.gatortraks.com/forum http://www.gatortraks.com
Ahhh, ok, thanks for the reply! I cant go that extravagant but upon an inspection today of the basement, I did see an A/C vent above an area that I can build it. Like yours, complete isolation will definitely be out of the question, but I should be able to get it down to something that wont piss the neighbors off, especially since I wont be doing many midnight sessions Did you use that Quietrock for your booth? Looks pretty interesting. Between that and the studio foam I think it should quiet it enough. Bob > Don't have any links really. I put in a separate A/C and heating unit for > my project studio. There was about 6" of space between the wall and the inner layer of drywall. I placed 3" thick rock wool in between the studs and then a double layer of 5/8" drywall. I nailed another layer of drywall on the ceiling and sealed the wall and the ceiling joint with that expanding urethane stuff. I've also got fiberglass absorbers mounted in there. -- Dave "Mod Bod" Modisette http://www.gatortraks.com/forum http://www.gatortraks.com
