and has added some long overdue features like ADC (like everyone else has
    had for years now.)

    http://www.avid.com/US/products/Pro-Tools-Software?intcmp=AV-HP-S2

Meanwhile, dateline Liverpool, the White Star Line has reincorporated and
has issued a press release that they have voted to order additional
    lifeboats for the Titanic.

Hehe, I think instead, I'll just save up fifty bucks and buy Reaper 4.0
when it becomes available next month. ;)

You guys are just sorry-assed pessimists.

Where can I buy my passage to England on the Titanic, and can I get a family

I hear that cabins in steerage are pretty reasonable.

But I'd bring a can opener if I were you...

Yeah, it's about time. Still no VST plug-in support. Of course, they do
have better notation than SONAR at this point. And "only" $599 to buy a
copy. Somehow, I think my $99 will be going toward a SONAR X1 upgrade
instead of a down payment on a copy of Pro Tools 9.

If you're gonna pay to learn how to run a DAW, you might as well learn Pro
Tools, so you might get a gig at some studio or jingle mill. Once you get
the gig running Pro Tools, you can then switch to Reaper! ;)

Hehe, I don't yet know one single thing that they will introduce in Reaper

When you're already Oscar material a face lift is all might want to
    have.

I wanted a gig when I was in Oklahoma and I didn't already know Pro

How easy is it to play and record from one midi keyboard controller, and
have that data routed to five different softsynths on five other tracks?

How easy is it to select a range of time in the middle of a song and have
Sonar tell you how much time has been selected?

How easy is it to use the volume from one track to modulate automation
parameters of FX on a different track?

How easy is it to put a group of folder tracks into another higher level
    parent folder? (nested folders)

How easy is it in Sonar to slow down the playback to record a vocal part
that's just barely out of your top vocal range?

    Etc. Etc. Etc. ;)

In the two years time I got with my initial 2.x license I've gotten for
free, the addition of true nested folders (folders inside other folders),
parameter modulation (where you can psuedo-side chain any paramater that
can be automated on any effect), drag and drop routing, true automation
lanes, CD burning right from the time line, and a whole lotta other stuff
too. Reaper is by far the best music software investment I've made.

I agree. Although I havent been able to use it much to really learn the
finer points, after an hour everything just felt natural. Moving to the new
house on thursday, and hope to have the studio set up within a couple of
weeks. Sitting down with Reaper and really getting to know it is first on
    my list!
