Having spent the entire evening reinstalling lots of VST plugins and
resolving ASIO issues, perhaps the answer is obvious to these questions, but
I'm too weary to figure them out...

FWIW, I'm using Cubase 3 and an Audigy 4 Pro soundcard.

I've reinstalled Groove Agent 2, but now when I add it to VST instruments,
it automatically creates 4 stereo channels in the mixer. Sound output is
only on the first stereo channel of course.
Not only is this puzzling, but means I can't load in previously created
Cubase songs where GA was used, as it objects to the different
    configuration.

Also, in the past I always installed later versions of Sampletank while
retaining earlier versions. I did this as I could see no way of getting the
newer version to be loaded in when using old song files that used the
earlier version(s). Is there a way I can have just one installation of it
and get all older files to use this, rather than having to edit every single
file (which would be extremely irksome).

    TIA,
    Gary

when you have Groove agent open right mouse click (everywhere on the panel)
and select audio output and then choose the number of output you want.
I have been using Groove agent but now switched to Battery3 more realistic
    sounds.

Thanks Gerard - one of those "doh!" fixes ;)

I don't recollect it defaulting to 4 stereo channels output when I first
installed it, but that was some years ago.
