Hi all, I need a new/replacement B/E key for my Yamaha SY55. Anyone know where I can get one? I am also thinking of buying a 'spares or repair' keyboard to plunder but I want to be sure the keys will fit first - please can anyone help me - which other Yamaha keyboards use the same keys as the SY55? - e.g. does the V50?? many thanks in advance! Mark
s'OK some nice person sent me this info: http://sounddoctorin.com/synthtec/parts/key.htm Yamaha Ridged press long contact strips rather than discrete key switches. Used in the DX11, DS-55, S30, SY22, SY55, V50 and AN1x. Also some combo organs and consumer electric pianos from the late 80's to early 90's like ME-6, HE-8, ME-50, U-1000, EL-50 and spring said YPR9 so possibly it also. Also PSR9000 and Korg X3. But anyway - after all that, I've had it apart and mended the broken key by supergluing in a new section made out of a plastic ruler - and it works just fine (and no bits left over)!
Hi Mark, I've had to replace severeal keys on my SY55. In my case I went to a local instruments store and ask them. They are in touch with technical services and know where to get sapares.
