Roland jp800 and Cubase 5

Hi

First of all hello to everybody. I'm a new owner of a JP8000 and I would like to use it with Cubase 5. As soon as I've connected Midi out of the JP8000 to the Midi in of my Motu, as I started Cubase 5, I've noticed that the Midi signal indicator is always on and trasmitting notes so it become useless. Do you know how to properly set up Jo with Cubase?
