I'm completely clueless on where to start. I have an old keyboard in my basement that's in pretty good condition. The only experience I have with any instrument is from when I used to play bass. Are there any exercises that I should do or should I jump right into playing songs? I'd appreciate any help anyone could give me.

Well, if you really are clueless - then I don't see how would you "jump" into playing songs :)

Just start with the easy stuff... scales, majors, minors, chord relationship, fingering and stuff like that.

After that try to google some Hannon excercises so you can build up strenght in your fingers and precision.

I know it's boring like hell, but you'll be more frustrated when trying to play a song and your fingers keep "tripping" over the keys :)

    Good luck
