If I have a synth in the synth rack, Edirol VSC as example, but no longer have the DXI track in the project (deleted), is there a way to re-create the correct DXI track for the synth already in the rack? The only thing I have been able to do is delete the 'orphan' synth from the rack, and start fresh with a new copy of the synth. Help appreciated, as always! Thanks! -- Sue Morton
Sue, Just insert a midi track, and set the output to the synth. It's as simple as that. -- Martin "Sue Morton" <> wrote in message news:674sd.37894$... > If I have a synth in the synth rack, Edirol VSC as example, but no longer > have the DXI track in the project (deleted), is there a way to re-create the > correct DXI track for the synth already in the rack? > > The only thing I have been able to do is delete the 'orphan' synth from the > rack, and start fresh with a new copy of the synth. But how do I get the DXi track to reappear? I want to assign the DXi to a different bus, change the parameters, insert FX and so on? -- Sue Morton "Martin Schiff" <-DE-DANospam> wrote in message news:1102110920.6ByGitj/6kP9z1NCS0rPzg@teranews... > Sue, > > Just insert a midi track, and set the output to the synth. I'm not really getting what you want to happen. Are you saying that you want the DXi track back with all of it's output/fX/Bus assignments? Or are you meaning that you have the midi track you created, but no longer have the DXi assigned to it? It could be that I'm just dumb... -- Nathan "Imagine if there were no Hypothetical Situations"

Insert an audio track and in the "Input" select field, where you see the soundcard inputs, you'll also see an option to use a DXi from the synth rack. -- Peter Raffensperger www.peter.raffensperger.org www.soundclick.com/bands/ilamstone
I could *swear* (OK I don't swear but you get the idea) that I looked at the inputs on an audio track and no DXi Synth. Duh. It's there alright. This is just what I was looking for, thanks!!! -- Sue Morton "Peter Raffensperger" <> wrote in message news:... >> But how do I get the DXi track to reappear? 1. Already have a MIDI track 2. Inserted a DXi 3. Hooked both together - everything working fine 4. Deleted the DXi track The Synth for the MIDI is still in the Synth rack, just no DXi audio track anymore. The Synth in the rack has still got all the parameters and changes I had made to its configuration. That's why I don't want to insert a NEW Synth in order to get a DXi audio track for the MIDI, I don't want to have to configure a synth all over again. I also want the DXi track back so I can manipulate it, it isn't enough to associate the MIDI with the synth in the rack, as Martin suggested. I want to assign the DXi audio track to a bus, or possibly put FX in its bin, pan it, change volume, whatever. Can't do that if I don't have the track anymore! Peter had the answer. Insert an Audio track and then change its input to be the DXi Synth already in the rack. Voila (walla? LOL) a new DXi audio track for the Synth I already have set up. -- Sue Morton "Nathan West" <> wrote in message news:... > Sue Morton wrote: > >> If I have a synth in the synth rack, Edirol VSC as example, but no longer >> have the DXI track in the project (deleted), is there a way to re-create >> the >> correct DXI track for the synth already in the rack? > > I'm not really getting what you want to happen. Sue, I haven't seen an answer here yet. Insert a new audio track and select the DXi output as the input for the track. It will switch to a DXi track type automatically. That's the ticket indeed, thanks, Bob. -- Sue Morton "BobF" <> wrote in message news:VsOsd.1735$... > Sue, > > I haven't seen an answer here yet.
