Is the solo guitar through an amp, or is that an amp sim? Nice groove.

    You're right....it woke me up!!!
Nice driving groove and great sounding guitar!
    I'm guessing amp sim?
or a very nice job of micing :)

No - it's all through a POD XT. The beginning is a real lofi sound and the rest are normal ones.

    I *wish* I had the:
    space
lack of neighbours on the other side of the walls
    mics
    nice amp(s)

to mic up a real guitar sound ;-)

Thanks a lot for listening Poly and Glennbo.

If I didn't have the ultra low volume tube preamp / solid state power
amp and speaker cab in the closet, I'd be looking at something like one
of these ultra low volume 1 watt tube heads and some dinky little
speaker cab for livingroom volume levels that sound like big amps.

    You go, boi! Rrockin'!

I rated you five stars and it said I had previously rated you four.
Great tune, John. I love the vibratos and the pinched squeal. The
change in guitars was most welcome to the mix. I wish I would play my
    MM1 that well.

C&V drums - zat German for Country & Vestern. :p

I'll stick to software and headphones. I'm in the equivalent of an apartment in the city (otherwise
known as a "flat" in the "town") ;-)

Thanks Ben, and thanks for listening. I was going for "lofi" verses and "cleanish" choruses...

I once saw a self contained isolation cabinet for use with these low
watt recording amps. It used something like a little 4" speaker, and
had a mount for an SM57 type mic. The whole thing was maybe 8 or 9
inches long, had an XLR out, and locked tight with a couple clasps.

The idea was you could toss it behind your mixing desk, and have your
1 watt or less tube amp up top where it was convienient to get to the
controls, and still be totally silent when recording.

I've seen these things - but I wonder if it's the same as micing a "real" cab. You're not exactly
"moving air" inside these boxes are you? ;-)
Of course I've never tried one (never even seen one except for pictures), so maybe they work great.
