I always get nervous, and get the cheese detector out when I see "Jesus" in the title, but -

This might be my favourite of all your recent ones! I wouldn't change a thing.
It is *really* catchy, while also having something to say.

You are really getting into the "zone" ;-)

I like it overall. Only minor reservation was that it felt like the guitars
were stepping on the vocal at points. Probably some EQ tweaks in the
presence range to take the guitars back a bit might do. I don't think it is
    a levels thing.

Great tune Neil! I'm a fan.

I moved the distasteful part of this thread to the coffeehouse if you
choose to deal with it there. ;-)

Cool song Neil! I like the almost reggae feel.

I don't mind at all, Neil, and I meant no disrespect to you.

Being as you brought this Jesus topic up I think it more appropriate
that you expound upon the meaning of needing or wanting a "new Jesus."

I do think you were irreverant in the witty lyrics. I also think your
song is well done, minus what I think your meaning is. Rather than me
making several negative points about your lyrics, I would really
appreciate an explanation of your lyrics. An artist certainly doen't
have to do so and I'd respect your choice.

At this juncture; you've made a point of some kind and I've given my
impression. I think you dissed Christ. If you did, He deserves at
least some word on His behalf. Maybe you didn't diss but if I went
further on my opinion without more information from you it might come
    off as preachy and negative.

The music is real good and well recorded . . . IMO. Great structure.
    ;-)

    Thanks Dick & Glennbo.

    Ben,

This tune is about corrupt politicians, corporate America buying those
politicians and special interest groups. "They'll sell you a new Jesus" if
that's what they think you'll buy to further their special interests. No
slam on Jesus or religion in general. (That's for another song).

    Thank you.

In answer to your question - and in keeping it simple - I said and
believe that because the Lord's name is not a coin to be spent
willy-nilly like it's an analgesic or even a Doctor Feelgood. His Name
is not a euphemism like, I gotta take a Jesus."

My opinion and rock on, dude. B-)

To heighten the point of one of my central themes in the song - which is
that corporate America and politicians can find a way to sell anything or
win an election by making any claim or out and out lying - the most absurd
thing I could think of that people surely do not need but corp Amer would
sell if they could make a dime on it - is a new Jesus.
