Following is a link to a very obscure Beatles' cover tune I just
finished...It was the "flip side" to Lady Madonna...a George Harrison tune
    called "The Inner Light"...

This is a complete reworking....and very spacey...

    The following equipment was used:
    Atmosphere
    SwarPlug
    Wechter Acoustic/Electric
    Studio Projects TB1 tube mic
    Sonitus Surround
    Project 5 rewired

...enjoy a spaced out trip to India...

    Kind Regards

Man, Eric, that is really good. I think you captured it quite well.

    Thanks Dave:
It was a blast doing it....the SwarPlug...an obscure vsti that's just
Indian instruments...is very cool...and hey, if one's going to do a Beatles'
cover...I think best to do a song that's not real famous...and then "make it
    your own"...

    Kind Regards
    Eric

Nice! It makes me want to drag out my old, worn-out copy of Harrison's
    "Wonderwall Music." Well-done.

A question and a small gripe:
What did you use for the vocoding?

And, though very subtle, the top string on your acoustic guitar (is
that virtual??) is a bit flat. Many won't mind, but I'm fussy that
    way.

    good..ear organfreak...yes, it's a tad flat...and I'm a bit lazy...hehehehhe

I loaded the spoken words into samplitude...and tweaked it
there...then...since the synth sound I used to blend with the spoken word
was in a different key than the song...I made it into a groove clip in sonar
and tweaked the pitch to fit the song...

    Kind Regards
    Eric

Beautiful! You nailed this one, Eric.

Ditto on OF's note about that top string, though... sounds almost as though
you have a finger leaning part-way over the fret a lot of the time.

IT's about to be not-so-obscure, as it appears on the Concert For George
cd, which I just picked up, but haven't taken off the plastic yet.
Impeccable timing, Eric! Now we can compare you and Jeff Lynne <G>.

Seriously, I enjoyed your cover, and way cool on picking something so out-
of-the-way. I was wondering whether anyone thought the low-end drone tone
was a bit in-your-face, esp. during the first minute or so. Not a criticism
(God knows. . .<G>), just wondering.

Cool choice, Eric... I've always though that this one had a very nice
melody. Nice version - I liked the vocal effect in the chorus ("Arrive
    without traveling...").

Thanks ruben...yes, it does have a lovely melody...one of the reasons I
    picked it...
the vox effect on the chorus..was sonitus: eq plugin..set to "telephone" and
then a touch of sonitus reverb...

thanks for checking out the tune.

    Kind Regards
    Eric
