Soundlblaster drivers

    In a previous post, I said how installing a Native Instruments soft synth
    buggered up my drivers.

    I think I figured something that may be relevant.

    My card is a really old Soundblaster - uses ES1370/73? chipset or some such.

    Its drivers are built into Windows XP.

    so, if you're ONLINE, Soundblaster drivers check the Soundblaster site for
    latest versions.

    And these can be MUCH inferior to earlier releases, as is the case with
    ES1373)/70 drivers.

    Solution: install Sounblaster stuff OFFLINE if you don't want this to
    happen.
