    Hi,

    Sorry this seems really dumb.
Typically I record my band takes up 7 tracks & at the end of say a 3
hour session I then want to give the the 7 wave files to my fellow
band members, here's the rub, I only want to give them portions of the
3 hour session but after cutting & pasting a 5 minute section into a
new project I choose FILE > EXPORT > SELECTED TRACKS then have an
option COPY or REFERENCE I choose COPY but it copies all 3 hours for
    the 7 resultant Wave files.

Please it's driving me crazy any idea's on how I only export the 3
    minutes I'm interested in?

    Many Thanks
    WG

Did you set the "start" and "end" markers for the 3-minute
    segment?

You have to set L and R "locators" (for loop start/end) according to one
song length before exporting! This tells Cubase "export to audio mixdown"
from 00:08:25 to 00:13:58, for example... apply start/end times according to
each single song, one at a time.
In other words: set L/R "locators" for song 1, then export. Next, move the
L/R "locators" to song 2 and export again. Continue doing so for all songs
    you want to export...

This can either be used for a stereo-mixdown OR (using the "Selected tracks"
option) for individual WAV files for each track.
IF you choose to export to individual track files, so everybody can make
their personal mix with a DAW software of choice, there“s one thing to keep
    in mind:
make up a NEW folder/directory as target folder for the exported files. That
makes it easier to determine, which WAVs you want to copy for your
bandmates. Name the folder something like "2010-03-26 Session EXPORT"
(writing the date "backwards" Year-Month-Day makes it easier to sort
    files/folders chronologically by computers).

Hope, that helps. ;-) Otherwise read the "Getting started" guide and the
    "Manual" for Cubase.

    Phil
