I've got a Kurzweil K2000 and I haven't had it set up since I moved 6 months ago. I set it up just now, started it up, and ALL the piano sounds are really messed up. It seems as if there's 2 or 3 different sounds in different octaves and it starts off on one for second then switches to sound two then switches to sound 3. The non-piano sounds are fine. When I first turned it on I had my sustain pedal in the "foot controller" jack by accident. Don't know if that has an effect. I tried both the +/-, o, clear soft reset as well as going into the Master menu and doing a hard reset of the memory. Nothing helped. If this has happened to you I'm sure you know what I'm talking about even with the horrible description! Any ideas?
Hi, do the batteries out and put them in again after 5 minutes. That helps often. Test the batteries by pressing the "4-5-6" buttons at the same time. New ones offer 4.7 Volts, and everything from 3.8 Volts on is normal. Better is to change the batteries all 12-18 months. Wonder if that helped Michael "C. Sorry for being so stupid about my not so cheap piece of equipment. I DID get out both manuals though and read all the troubleshooting topics and nothing mentioned batteries. I did the test and it came up 3.7V. I'll go get some AA batteries today and see if it does the trick. . . I'm imagining it will. Thanks!

Yea it did. Right after I put the new batts in it actually was still messed up. Then I did the 4, 5, 6 thing and it seemed to reset it and it's ok now. Thanks!
