Hi there, I'm new here and would like to learn
to play on keyboard - I own Casio CTK-573 for
about half an year, but didn't really learn to
play something awesome. More bits and bobs
from some songs and lately I've been reading
this basic music theory - I'm thinking of buying
a new keyboard (which i don't know yet, maybe
you could help me with that too :) - but back
to the point - what approach did you have when
decided you want to play this instrument - I got
no time for tutor, though it may be one of the most
safiest way how to proceed and hone playing skills.
So what can you recommend me for study material -
besides giving advice to practice everyday :)

    Cheers mates, Peter

My favourite kind of music: rock, metal, classical
Bands: Stratovarius, Nightwish, Children of Bodom,
Dream Theater (enlisted only bands with strong keys
    position)

I took private lessons when I was younger, which was good for me :)

However, on PBS there is someone who calls himself "The Piano Guy" and he has a cool way of teaching. Check it out sometime if you like it you might buy his DVD Tutorials :)

Yeah I know, have already seen some vids of
him teaching "basic" techniques he's familiar with
during playing - Dream Theater is my favourite
    progressive metal band, really amazing...

Do you know his solo albums? Or An evening
with John Petrucci and Jordan Rudess album?
    It's simply breath-taking, love it.
anyway, thansk a lot for the reply ;-)
    Rock on!
